Independence Palace, Hochiminh city, Vietnam
Independence Palace (formerly called Norodom Palace, now called Reunification Palace or Reunification Hall) is a architectural works in Ho Chi Minh City.
After 1954, the French withdrew from Vietnam. Vietnam was divided into two countries, the North is the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and southern Vietnam National water (after is the Republic of Vietnam).

In 1955, after a referendum, Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem deposed Bao Dai and became a presidency. He decided to change the name of this palace of the Presidential Palace. In this period, the Presidential Palace is also known as Presidential Palace. Building process of Independence Palace
Independence Palace was started construction on July 1, 1962. During the construction period, family of President Ngo Dinh Diem temporarily moved to Gia Long Palace (the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City now). When the construction was progressing, the Ngo Dinh Diem was assassinated in coup faction on November 2, 1963. Therefore, the palace was inaugurated on October 31, 1966.

From this date, the Presidential Palace became a new building residence and work of Republican presidential Vietnam. Republic of Vietnam President Nguyen Van Thieu of Republic of Vietnam lived in this palace from October 1967 to April 21, 1975.
